While conducting some field research earlier today I passed by Miller's Pond, situated off of Maple Avenue in Smithtown. The pond contained the largest group of ring-necked ducks I have ever seen together in one place - 406 birds male and female birds in total. As might be expected this time of

I am wondering if anyone knows what studies/research that this gull may be part of. My friend Nick saw a banded Ring-billed Gull today in Southaven County Park, Suffolk County, NY (Carmans River). Leg bands: right leg had one blue band ~1.5 cm tall with white letters reading A1L vertically
