Headed out to Iroquois today with Jim Horn, HM Bateman, and Alec Humann. Nice weather brought out a lot wildlife: muskrats, Painted Turtles, Garter Snakes, Commas (butterfly). I was really hoping to see the Eurasian Wigeon, but no luck. Highlights include: Numerous Northern Shovelers,

Hi All, Dick Belanger, Sally Swain and I birded the County Park this morning doing some muck walking to attain closer looks at the many ducks along the river. Just as we came out through the phragmites we watched a Peregrine Falcon come into view to our left cruising mid river. The many

I just (10 AM March 17th) received a phone call from a driver on I-90 who reports having seen a SNOWY OWL on the power station just south of the highway on the Rensselaer side of the Hudson River (Albany/Rensselaer Counties). While this is an excellent area for a Snowy Owl to hang out, a bit of

First of the year Eastern Phoebe and Pine Warbler were observed this morning at Westmoreland Sanctuary, Bedford Corners, NY. This is the earliest arrival of Pine Warbler on record for the preserve. The previous early arrival date was April 3.
