This morning at about 10:30 I spotted an immature male Blue Grosbeak at All
Faiths Cemetery in Middle Village, Queens on Metropolitan Avenue. This was
on the south side of the cemetery in the section along the Christ the King
parking lot. I uploaded couple of shots here:

Expecting rain, I missed Gabriel's morning bird walk in Bryant Park. Waited
all day for the sun to appear. No luck, so dragged myself out into the cold
damp grayness at 5pm for signs of fallout. Not a single bird on the lawn, the
sparrows hunkering in the bushes. Curious, however, finding a
One pair foraging with Green-winged Teals at pond outflow under Montauk Hwy and
Barnes Rd, Moriches.

I did a little late morning and early afternoon birding along the Fire and
Jones barrier beach today. Sunday's coastal storm brought in Lesser
Black-backed Gulls to the barrier beach - I recorded one at Robert Moses, three
at Captree, and one at West End. At Captree State Park my FOY Indigo Bunt
Reported in today's Buffalo News page A7: If accepted by the ABA it would be
only the second appearance in the USA, the first in Texas in 2008. Spotted in
Douglas Park in Chicago IL early last week. Native to South America, a mere

A PROTHONOTARY Warbler has been found and is being seen as of mid-day
today at the southeast section of Bryant Park, which is roughly midway

On Saturday, 4/21, I came upon (read, almost hit) 2 Turkey Vultures, while
they feasted on a flattened Opossum, on Manor Rd., between Rt. 25 & Middle Rd.,
Calverton - this being only the 2nd time I've ever seen this species feeding on
the ground on L.I. This general area (mostly agricultural)

Fortuitous late start:
Just observed an adult male Mag Frigatebird from the Point. It was attracted to
a feeding flock of gulls and gannets well off the Point; then slowly headed
west along the north side of the Point. The right side of its tail is damaged.
