The day continued to be good. I got out at around 4 to Kissena Park where I
tallied 12 species of warbler, and a large number of the common warblers

Yesterday afternoon, I observed an impressive movement of various waterbirds along the north shore of the Great South Bay, as viewed from the north end of Patchogue Cove. The fog and SE breeze pushed most of the migrants within several hundred yards of shore. It was quite a surreal experience as
A relatively brief lunchtime walk through Prospect Park revealed many overdue
warblers and other songbirds. While last weekend's birding in Green-Wood
Cemetery and Prospect Park combined for a paltry seven species of warbler (and
absurdly low abundance of everything), my mostly damp walk in Pros

For the first time this month, favorable migration weather patterns are setting
up for the NYC region and perhaps beyond. In checking the local forecast on
Accuweather, it is predicted that winds will shift SW this afternoon and remain
generally light and steady SW through tonight and at least u

able to pick up. Parula, multiple black and whites and bt blues, prairie,
ovenbirds, waterthrushes, orioles, white eyed vireos as well as yellow rumped,

For the last 3 mornings (seen bw 645-715) there has been a lingering single red
throated loon just off the "beach" at croton point park. Seems quite late to
me? Also singing orchard oriole this morning.
