Just read an email from Alexis Lamek that he sent at 5:12pm today. He
writes that he has spotted a female or first winter type Blue Grosbeak on
Roosevelt Island. It is on the small hill in the center, just south of the
entrance of the park.

birds were also numerous at doodletown (rockland county just south of Bear Mtn
bridge on Rte 9W) Many male ceruleans singing in the open in various parts of
the park, not as many and not quite as open hooded warblers but great looks, a
highlight was orange crowned on road before Herbert
The EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE continues at the Wilson Boathouse Restaurant.
This is an easy bird to get. I arrived at 2:00, got out of the car,
immediately heard the bird singing, followed the song, then easily saw the
bird, which sat as I took a couple of photos.
DIRECTIONS:
On the corner of
City Island Birds had its second migration walk today and a dozen of us reveled
in the glorious weather and scenery. It was generally slow but we had some
close and multiple looks at Oystercatchers, an eye level and very close male
Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Yellow Warblers were all around,

the left if looking from bridge towards Forest.Sang twice.

first-of-the-season: *
Our feeder seed is running out, but we still have finches - Purple Finches,
4 Pine Siskins, & Amer. Goldfinches. (So far, the last date I observed a
Common Redpoll was 4/29/15).
The local Gray
