A few days ago, I received a third hand report of a Northern Bobwhite "along
the path on the west side of the Cross Island". When asked if that was
possible, I replied that an occasional one is seen here and there, but they
probably don't get there by natural means. I didn't give it any further

Strong winds from the NE kept the small birds down, and buffeted the few
migrating Ospreys. However, 2 BALD EAGLES went by flying high going west. They
didn't seem to be in the least bit disturbed by the gale.
On the West End parking lot there were 12 LESSER BLACK-BACKED
There is a Western Kingbird at Edgemere Landfill in Queens - found and
tentatively identified yesterday by Lisa Scheppke. Isaac Grant and I just
re-found it and confirmed the ID.
