We are still short of the number of participants we need to make this a
break even trip. We're so stoked to get out at this time of year that I
and the leaders are willing to pay for our own slots just to get the trip
to sail. Our cutoff date from the captain is next Thursday so we've got
one
Dickcissel seen today around 5:30pm in the Native Garden Meadow at
Brooklyn Botanic
Garden. It was associating with Indigo Buntings and a Blue Grosbeak. Photos

This evening, 2 Lark Sparrows were feeding together with other sparrows on the
grass at the previously mentioned location. The Western Kingbird was also
present.

With this proven second Western Kingbird (at Jones Beach while a bird was
demonstrably present at Robert Moses SP), it is worth considering the
possibility that more than one individual has been involved in the observations
at RMSP dating back to 1 October.

Ed Becher just called and said Lark Sparrow, Eastern Meadowlark and
White-crowned Sparrow were along the western entrance road to WE2. Same area
as Western Kingbird.

The previously reported Western Kingbird was observed this morning in the
picnic area west of RMSP Field 2. Since we were not actively looking for the
