Seatuck Creek)' in Suffolk County based on the Ross' Goose sighting and all
the personal locations with Eastport Lake in the description. Searching for
either 'Seatuck Creek' or Eastport Lake' will bring up the marker.
If
I wrapped up a day of birding out on Long Island with a late afternoon
seawatch at Shinnecock Inlet which was quiet save for a late Sooty
Shearwater. Any December records out there?
Waterfowl were non existent with only a few Common Eiders and Long-tailed
Ducks out on the ocean. A good number of

Also Bobby Rosetti picked out 2 good gull species today. The first was the
adult Kumlien's Iceland Gull on the western jetty of Montauk harbor, not that

Jay McGowan and I are looking at a very distant PACIFIC LOON off of Route
153, just south of Sheldrake Point in Seneca County. This is where Route
153 meets Kidders Beach Road on Google Maps (pulloff is at ~8000 County
Road 153).

It's nearing 70 degrees in NY with Christmas around the corner there's
certainly a lethargic feeling to that if not quite ennui; at Mariandale
conference center off Rte. 9 Ossining in a sizable raft of scaup I picked out 5
canvasback (4 drake). Heard redhead duck were seen earlier in week; I

Painted Bunting continues in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. This morning at
8:30 in a roped off weedy patch between East Drive and LeFrak Ctr
green-roof. Stake out with dozen+ lookers on. Skulky but seemingly
unperturbed by observers who were quiet and respectful of landscape
boundries.

lot entrance.
Note the Montauk CBC is next Saturday (19th Dec). There is an abundance of
prime territory in the circle. The combination of this long run of warm weather
with frequent westerly airflow means a good
