Matthieu Benoit and I (Jared Cole) birded Pelham Bay Park in The Bronx, NY, on 11/11/2016 from sunrise (about 6:40am) to sunset (about 4:40pm). We started at Twin Islands, eventually concluding in the Southern Zone of the park. We did not observe any morning flight. We did have a good diversity

Re: [nysbirds-l] Female Harlequin Duck, Shinnecock Inlet

While birding along Dune Road today, I ran into a birder from Orange County who mentioned that he had seen a female harlequin yesterday and today at Shinnecock ( Suffolk). I headed over there and found the bird off the beach alongside the west jetty. Photo on the NYS Birder Facebook page.

Kyle Bardwell and I spent about 90 minutes out at CPP this morning; highlights included 2 common loon in the river -- at least one calling (we were surprised to hear this time of year), RT loon (bay side), kingfisher, at least 2 osprey, bald eagle, harrier, cooper's hawk, merlin (perched), RC
