After reading M McBrien's earlier post, while at work I decided to check out
the Apartment Complex across the street from the Brookhaven Landfill. At 14:45
hours I found a Pale Juvenile Glaucous Gull sleeping along side roadway. Link

Thursday AM around 8, I dipped on purple sandpipers on jetty south of Hook Pond.
I also dipped on sandhill crane in Wainscot but sun's glare limited visibility.

A short visit to late 2016 hot spots yesterday relocated some birds of note,
including the following:
Lake Ronkonkoma - Tundra Swans, Common Mergansers
Robert Moses SP, Field 5 - Lapland Longspur among 10 Horned Larks, Peregrine
Falcon at the water tower
Belmont Lake - Snow Goose
Westhampton Beac
This morning at exactly 7:06 a.m. (6:66), exiting the Black Cow Coffee Co. on
Old Post Rd., Croton-on-Hudson it was evident the vulture roost had just alit.
It seems to be burgeoning as I counted exactly 120 (1/20). Included among the
dominant turkey vultures, I spotted a token 4 black. I got in
