The Baird's Sandpiper found yesterday on the beach at Crooke's Point (Great
Kills Park, Staten Island) continues for a second day at the same location-

A walk this morning on the East Pond just after sunrise (at pretty much
dead low tide) with Sean Petty didn't net us any spectacular rarities, but
we did see some decent birds. The park service has hacked a trail through
the phragmites on the far side of the fence on the south end of the East
Pond,
There is a Marbled Godwit currently on the flats at Cupsogue, Suffolk County.
Decent amounts of other shorebirds moving down the beach this morning as well.
Also FYI, the tide here is fairly low, and just now beginning to rise.
