Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)






     12/20: A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen from East Road.

     12/22: 5 COMMON REDPOLLS were seen in the forested area of Armitage Road.







Cayuga County






     12/26: A FIELD SPARROW was seen at Sterling Nature Center.







Onondaga County






     12/20: A COMMON GRACKLE was seen near Homer. A PINE GROSBEAK was again 
found in the rolling Hills area of Green Lakes State Park. It was located again 
on the 21st.

     12/21: A TURKEY VULTURE was seen on Watervale Road south of Manlius.

     12/23: A COMMON GRACKLE was seen at the Dewitt Marsh. A NORTHERN SHRIKE 
was seen at Green Lakes State Park. A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen on Hoag Road 
south of Baldwinsville.

     12/25: 4 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS were seen along the west side of Onondaga 
Lake south of the Honeywell Visitor’s Center. A SNOWY OWL was seen in the same 
area.

     12/26: A SNOWY OWL was seen on the West Shore Trail north of the Visitor’s 
Center.







Oswego County






     12/21: An ICELAND GULL was seen at Lock 2 on the Oswego River in Fulton.

     12/24: A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen on Stubbs Road in Mexico.

     12/26: 2 CACKLING GEESE and a NORTHERN PINTAIL were seen at Lake 
Neatahwanta in Fulton.A HERMIT THRUSH and a NORTHERN SHRIKE were seen at Rice 
Creek Field Station in Oswego. A RED-THROATED LOON was seen in Oswego Harbor.







Madison County






     12/24: 2 CACKLING GEESE were seen at the south end of Cazenovia lake. A 
SNOWY OWL was found at Andrews Shore Road north of Bridgeport.

     12/27: A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen and photographed from Indian Lookout Road 
north of Cazenovia. s5 SNOW BUNTINGS were seen on Bruce Road in Canastota.







Oneida County






     12/26: 13 species of Waterfowl including all 3 MERGANSERS plus

 GREATER and LESSER SCAUP were seen at south bay on Oneida Lake.







Herkimer County






     12/20: 2 RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS were seen of Westgate Dreve north of 
Frankfort. 

     12/24: 6 RED CROSSBILLS were seen near Moss Lake north of Eagle Bay.

     12/25: 6 RED CROSSBILLS were seen at Limekiln Lake.

     12/26: A HERMIT THRUSH was seen on Cronkhite Road in Fort Plain.
