Just apropos of signs-of-spring, some of the first of Sandhill Cranes to be seen showing at the *Platte River in Nebraska*, a renowned site for the species in North America, have started at least as of Sunday, 2/20. Many many more are sure to follow, as the vernal equinox comes closer. . .
