[nysbirds-l] Central Park, NYC - Sunday, 10/23 - 14 warbler species

2022-10-24 Thread Tom Fiore
Central Park, Manhattan, N.Y. City - Sunday, October 23rd -

Briefly, at least 14 warbler species were found and seen by many observers in
the park, for Sunday. Slightly more than that number of warbler species were
found for all of New York County on the day. Further local reports to come,
including from other areas in the county. Thanks to the many independent
birders and the participants and leaders of guided walks done for
not-for-profit org’s, who've again added/contributed many of these sightings.

Ovenbird*, Northern Waterthrush, Black-and-white Warbler*, Tennessee
Warbler*, Nashville Warbler*, Common Yellowthroat*, American Redstart, Cape
May Warbler*, Northern Parula*, Blackpoll Warbler, Black-throated Blue
Warbler*, Palm Warbler*, Pine Warbler,* [Myrtle] Yellow-rumped Warbler*. A
few of these include individual birds which have been lingering for many days
in the same general areas of Central Park. A fair number of these species also
have been showing in other locations in Manhattan, and some also on the
outlying islands of the county. The species noted with an asterisk above were
seen in the multiple, although others could also have been, for Central Park.

good birding,

Tom Fiore
