Shortly before 4:00 this afternoon I found a Mew Gull (most likely Common
Gull) off of Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island. Bird was feeding off of the
jetty in a large flock of Ring-billed Gulls and some Bonaparte's Gulls.

Just had a female Harlequin swimming at the base of Fort Wadsworth. Only
visible from the bluffs of Von Briesen Park and looking down onto fort and
pilings. Last seen swimming towards the bridge and around side of fort. This is
a small park at the corner of school road and Bay Street.

Bird was on mound all morning. Just heard it was seen from spot on Richmond
Avenue at normal spot across from Dick's. Patience may be needed. Also keep in
mind that you should stay completely out of the parking lot and stand on sandy
area closest to mound and behind the orange plows.

white-rumped and Pectoral Sandpipers.
In addition water levels were quite low and the pond is easily walkable if
you're wearing proper footwear.

white-rumped and Pectoral Sandpipers.
In addition water levels were quite low and the pond is easily walkable if
you're wearing proper footwear.

I have video of the Franklin's and a Laughing Gull mating from a few days back.
I posted it on the New York Birders Facebook page. Seems like the bird may be
paired up...

is that accessed from the parking lot?

After a long search eventually found at at the Sylvan Water. It was calling
from inside dense bushes the border the hillside next to white flowering trees.

Just got word that the Caracara was refound and photographed sitting in a
tree on the side of the road about 1/2 mile north of where it was feeding
on the deer carcass. This was at 4:45 today. The photos are posted on a
hawkwatching facebook page. So the bird may well be there tomorrow as it
