Central Park, NYC - North End
Friday September 4, 2015
OBS: R. DeCandido, D. Allen, m.ob. on bird walk

Snowy Egret - flyover
Osprey - flyover
Red-tailed Hawk
Chimney Swift - small flock
Red-bellied Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker
Warbling Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
Black-capped Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
White-breasted Nuthatch
House Wren - juvenile before walk (DA)
Gray Catbird
Northern Mockingbird
Ovenbird - 3 before walk (RDC)
Northern Waterthrush
Blue-winged Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
Tennessee Warbler - Wildflower Meadow
Common Yellowthroat
American Redstart
Magnolia Warbler
Yellow Warbler
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Prairie Warbler
House Finch
American Goldfinch

After the walk I had a quick look at the Reservoir finding only two Laughing
Gulls loafing on the dike along with the three common gull species -
Ring-billed, Herring and Great Black-backed. The Laughing Gulls seem to prefer
to the company of Ring-billed Gulls probably because they are less intimidating
than the larger gulls. It was nice to see some pale-bellied young
Double-crested Cormorants along with the adults. There were also a couple of
Northern Shovelers and a decent number of Gadwall at the Reservoir's south end.
