[nysbirds-l] Eastern L.I. Audubon Society field trip to Rocky Point DEC Property

2018-05-01 Thread robert adamo
Each year ELIAS schedules a number of field trips during the month of May.
This year we have 10 set up, with today being the first. It was a fine day
weather wise, but "form" held forth re: the birds! We don't get the early
influx of species, as do our cousins up west, coming up with just 15
species. Our most notable bird was C. Raven, the 2nd year in a row for this
location. We did get 5 species of warblers, namely Yellow-rumped, Palm,
Black & White, Ovenbird and Northern Waterthrush. All 8 "trippers" were
glad to be out and about...let the "fallouts" begin !

Cheers,
Bob
