[nysbirds-l] FW: Eurasian Wigeon

2012-03-16 Thread ROBERT ADAMO

On Thursday, 3/15, Tom Moran and I found the previously reported Eurasian
Wigeon at Coopers Neck Pond in Southampton. This was a "lifer" for Tom, a bird
that had given him the "slip" a number of times these past few years. Also
present, besides the many species of common, wintering, waterfowl species, were
at least 4 active Muskrats (tried to make River Otter out of them).
Earlier, at about 0845, I had 2 Turkey Vultures fly over, fairly low, in
Riverhead, and wondered if this fairly early, atypical morning sighting, was
due to it's being such a "gray" day?
Cheers,Bob
