Independence Day Highlights: 3 Red-breasted Nuthatches (very worn plumage), 
Yellow Warblers, Wood Thrush, Orchard Oriole, Wood Duck with ducklings, Green 
Heron.

Wood Duck - female with 8 ducklings Bronx River
Mourning Dove
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - female
Great Blue Heron - flyover
Green Heron - Bronx River (Patrick)
Red-tailed Hawk - adult & juvenile near Mertz Library, circling adult 
Red-bellied Woodpecker - at least 2
Downy Woodpecker - adult female & male with juvenile at Swale
Northern flicker - male & female
Great Crested Flycatcher - heard in forest
Eastern Kingbird - 2 Twin Lakes
Warbling Vireo - several (Gillian Henry)
Blue Jay - 2
Tufted Titmouse - Forest & Azalea Way
Red-breasted Nuthatch - 3 in pines between Conservatory & Moshulu entrance
White-breasted Nuthatch - 2 Forest & Azalea Way
Wood Thrush - Forest & Azalea Way
Gray Catbird - several locations
Northern Mockingbird - Pines near Cafe
American Goldfinch - most at Swale
Chipping Sparrow - several some singing (Signe Hammer), one under tables at 
Cafe 
Song Sparrow - several locations, including pair in Native Plant Garden
Orchard Oriole - female at Swale
Baltimore Oriole - adult males Bronx River near Twin Lakes, hatch-year bird at 
Swale
Red-winged Blackbird - several adult males, female visiting nest with young in 
Swale (Amanda)
Yellow Warbler - male & 2 females at Swale
