Turns out this is an indigo bunting that was singing a purple finch-like song. Bill too small for BLGR. Thanks to Jay McGowan and Chris Wood for their comments. My impressions was that it had rufous on the wings but lighting was not that great. Oh well... now to eat some humble pie... :( see
