Good evening!

Although this is a pet bird, the owners are seeking area birders to help locate
this Gray Parrot. The bird is reported to have been sighted in the Branchport,
NY area. If interested, please read below or visit their link for more
information. Thank you for the tolerance of this slight deviation from the List
Rules.

Sincerely,
Chris T-H

Subject: lost grey in the woods, please help!

Dear Chris,

We need your help. A friend lives in the Groton, NY area and she and her
husband have lost their 1-year-old African Grey Parrot. His name is Makamae,
(Maki for short) and he flew off 3 weeks ago. He's lost in the woods and they
are desperately looking for him. Yesterday, he was sighted in the Branchport
area near Penn Yan, New York.

Andrew Mason gave me your contact info and suggested that you may be able to
post it on your wild bird list.

Is there anyone in your area or club that has some time to help them find this
bird? They are so devastated. Please let people know. He is a Congo African
Grey Parrot. His is dark gray on the back, light gray/whitish looking on the
breast with white face and a red tail. He's lost and terrified. If you see
anything or can get people to help or can spread the word, their number is
607-533-7096. Their names are Marion and Gil Ferrer. Their cell is
607-592-4201. They are up there in the area looking for Maki now.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my note.
