Oct 5, 2014, 9AM - 12PM. Alley Pond Park - Sunny, breezy, 51 degrees F. After yesterday's rain a cold front with north winds brought many migrant birds to Alley Pond Park, Queens.
Large numbers of N Flicker seen in many locations. Particularly 14 on the ball field next to the handball courts. RC Kinglet, Blue-headed Vireo, Red-eyed Vireo, N Parula, Black- throated Blue Warbler (pair), Yellow-rumped(many), Tennessee, Black- pole, Chestnut-sided, Palm (many), Common Yellowthroat, Redstart. Most of the warblers were seen between Little Alley Pond and the Park House. Also the kettle hole dips birds on Hercules Club.
