It was not a really big arrival day for migrants, yet a few early-bird
'arrivals' were found...
Among these were Great Egret (at least 1 fly-over moving from east to
west, later in the day, a somewhat typical sight in the n.

Red-necked Grebe ongoing at the reservoir, seems to like the n. & n.w.
section; Red-breasted Merganser pair also lingering on; N. Shovelers
in numbers (but no wigeon at all detected today), & some of the other
recent res. regular
Not in NYC but in the northeast, a number of rare &/or extra-early
birds were being reported, including a Sage Thrasher at Salisbury &
Wilson's Plover on Nantucket, Massachusetts, along with NY state
reports of Varied Thrush (via Hudson-Mohawk Birds list), a Townsend's
Solitaire that no one
