[nysbirds-l] Central Park - a late report

2017-01-25 Thread Patricia Pollock
I couldn't get to a computer to report
5 Ring-necked Ducks (M) @ Reservoir 1/22/17 Sun. about 1:30pm.

The weather and not being well kept me from returning.
I've been waiting for a Ring-neck duck all season.
1/20/17 Fri., an odd duck appeared swimming with a flock of Ruddies.  It's head
was entirely white and the back and wings were splotched with dull red, the
breast a solid dull reddish color.Another Birder, Carl, was observing this
anomyly from another side of NW corner.  I looked for the birds later but never
saw it again.  Carl and I thought it was a leucistic Ruddy Duck.
