Hi everyone, There was a drake Eurasian Wigeon hanging with the relatively few lingering ducks on Leeds Pond in Plandome this afternoon. eBird evidence suggests it has been there on and off for at least a week. Really unimpressive photos on the checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S28647484
Afterwards, walking around the perimeters of the closed Hempstead Plains Preserve areas north and south of Charles Lindbergh Blvd turned up little of note. A Ring-necked Pheasant called once from the south side of the boulevard. http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S28647699 Best,Brendan Fogarty -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
