Joe Giunta and I (Sy Schiff) viewed the bar and inlet. The bar contained the 3
gull species, 2 AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHERS and a few DUNLIN. In the water were all
three SCOTERS SPECIES, a dozen COMMON EIDER, 75 RED-BREASTED MERGANSER, 2
BUFFLEHEAD and a HORNED GREBE. Nice to see the winter ducks

viewing a Razorbill to the NE of the Coast Guard Station at Jones Beach.
This is inside the bay, not on the ocean side of WE2.

afternoon on the incoming tide yielded a nice assemblage of shorebirds
totaling over 1000 individuals.

Arrived just after high tide (8:30). The bar was covered with shorebirds and
skimmers. All but the oystercatchers and some of the skimmers left at 10:15.
Both Osprey and Peregrine were about, but not near the shorebirds, so not sure
what spooked them. But while

Hi Everyone,
After trying unsuccessfully for the Baird's Sandpiper this evening, I
stopped at the Coast Guard area - saw the continuing 2 Common Loons (non
breeding) and female Greater Scaup as well as 4 Black Scoters.
