I spent the first 3 hours of this afternoon in pursuit of my current
nemeses, the Lapland Longspur. Although remaining "longspur-less" at day's
end, I did have a rewarding outing. While traveling west as far as Hulse
Landing Rd., Wading River, and then east, ending up at Mattituck Inlet,
