Full list at < http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S12295561 >. The sub-adult ICELAND GULL was perched on the New York Post building across the Bronx Kill seen from the northeast section of the island. It had an all dark bill, dark eye, a light scaly pattern to the wings, the very light wingtips appeared light gray in the scope. In flight it showed a white tail with a light gray terminal band. Similar in size to the nearby perched Ring-billed Gulls. Close to shore just east of ICGU was a male COMMON GOLDENEYE. After feeding for a few minutes it headed east toward the Con Ed plant in Astoria. Raptors seen: — Peregrine Falcon: an adult was perched on the south side of the top of Hell's Gate Bridge. — American Kestrel: a male calling high in a tree along Wards Meadow Loop north of the RFK bridge and west of the soccer fields. — Cooper's Hawk: an adult flew into the area where the AK was perched. The CH continued south and the AK moved to a nearby perch. — Red-tailed Hawk: an adult was hunting around the Bronx Kill just west of the Bronx portion of the RFK Bridge.
