Despite the recent threads about boring sea watches, I decided to make the
drive to Robert Moses Field 2 this evening (if nothing else I figured I
could accomplish some purposeful bird watching). The wind looked ok, so I
went for it.

A sea watch at RMSP Field 2 was held between 8:15AM and 9:00AM, with most the
time being spent staring at an empty ocean. However, an obliging Wilson’s Storm
Petrel came close to shore allowing prolonged views. Shortly thereafter, a
close-in Great Shearwater appeared, giving good looks, only to
