property every day since I posted about this bird, and I have detected no
Kentucky Warblers.

I had been out of town for 10 days and looked forward to getting into my
local patch yesterday morning. Last year I found a Kentucky Warbler there
mid-June - it hung around for quite a while and, being greedy, I was sort
of hoping for another one this year. I had a pleasant walk, but wasn't

I had not heard nor seen the Kentucky Warbler in weeks, but at about 7am
today I heard a Kentucky Warbler singing at the same spot as previously
reported. I hung around a bit and finally got a couple good looks at it,
just to make sure I wasn't listening to a wren too imaginatively.

I'll be out of town for a few days and unable to make my daily check for
the Kentucky Warbler again until Sunday. But I wanted to report that after
missing it on Monday (when Dan Hegland reported it) I heard the bird
Tuesday morning and again today about 6:20am. It sang several times, but

Among the 33 species of birds I found on my morning walk at the Rocky Point
DEC property in Suffolk County this morning was a singing Kentucky
Warbler. I'm pretty sure I heard one on a couple occasions earlier this
spring, but I don't like to count this bird "heard-only" in New York
