For those who might be interested, I've posted a picture of the Ruff at my web site http://stevewalternature.com/ . Pictures taken from my old ride. And from what I saw, that's the way to do it. Trying to walk toward it is not advisable. And staking it out at the field 7 pools seems like the best approach to seeing it.
