Hello Everyone, There was a chill wind from the north for a change this
morning on our final walk of this year. A lone Great Cormorant graced the
jetty,no eider about, a few Long Tailed Duck, still no Horned Grebe down
this way. A female Kestrel and 2 Harrier were scanning the marsh just west
of Ponquogue Bridge. From a sand mound just before Tiana Beach we found 7
Pintail Duck,[real surprise for this side of bay], between 2 large groups
of feeding Black Duck. A few,[6], Common Goldeneye have returned to the
bayfront at Tiana proper. We then had a Great Egret at rest upon a duck
blind on the way to Triton Lane. This was my second in 2 days,[Smith Point
marina]. The abundant Bufflehead and Red Breasted Merganser flocks along
this stretch were a pleasure to see. Good December Birding, Carl
