TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE continues this morning... seen continually from 8:30am
on a quarter mile up High Valley Road in Copake Falls. Foraging regularly
in the line of trees smothered in bittersweet in the middle of the
Continues in junipers and in woods across from 1625 North Sea Drive in Southold
(north fork of Long Island). Observed by Malcolm, Ursula, Junko, John and

Good evening.
The Townsend Solitaire was active and visible in the afternoon. It was alert
and stood often at top of pines and telephone lines. We observed it eat a
juniper berry. Number of times it defecated indicated a well fed bird. Good
news for its likely survival.

The previously reported Townsend's Solitaire was seen around 10:00, and again
at 10:15. Most recently flying in from the open field toward the homes along
the shore.
