[nysbirds-l] Western Kingbird, Jones Beach West End, Nassau County
A Western Kingbird is currently perched up on a bare tree at the south side of the open area in Jones Beach West End’s median. It is enduring quite a bit of grief from a mockingbird and some Yellow-rumps, but so far it keeps returning after its flights. Cheers! -Tim H -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME.htm http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES.htm http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birding.aba.org/maillist/NY01 Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --

Being that it's a weekday in October, the ball fields near 73rd Avenue and 224 St. are quiet, allowing some birds to hang around. 2 Eastern Bluebirds were also here.
