Apologies for the delay in reporting here, but I found an adult male
Western Tanager in Prospect Park this morning. (I hesitated to report it
here until I or someone was able to get better documentation. Thankfully,
Josh Malbin and Eleanor Ray have since relocated it and got photos, and
Eleanor's

frequenting the lower end of South Blowdown Meadow (40.795378, -73.960456) and

Enrico Leonardi briefly spotted a Western Tanager in Green-Wood Cemetery a

About an hour ago I observed a Western Tanager at the Esdale bridge in Prospect
Park. The bird then flew down toward Ambergill Falls, and I lost track of it. I
have been searching the area since, and will continue to look for a while
longer.

The tanager is stil in Crocheron, today appearing at the west end of the
pond and flying north across the street to feed at eye level on some
berries. Nothing else too weird; a Winter Wren among the pond edge and 8+
Fox Sparrows, one singing.

the park about 30 minutes ago. I also saw a late catbird. I didn’t see the
wilson’s warbler but I left since it was getting dark.

has been refound in City Hall Park this morning. That's all I know.

I was just sent a photo of the tanager and it is indeed a Western Tanager.
