Kissean Corridor, Queens New York
I was able to get at least one Blue Grosbeak (if anyone is interested). It
was out in the open multiple times and gave great views. too bad it was too
dark to get a good clear picture.

present another two-part program at the American Museum of Natural History
(AMNH) in New York City.

From Marhall Illif re: recent passerine influx and Lapwing potential. Recent
reports from Alley Pond (Tennessee, BT-Blue, Parula, Redstart, Virginia's)
Kissena (Blue Grosbeak, Nashville) may bear this out.

Its an interesting thought, but I'll also point out that I still had a
Tennessee Warbler in my yard (photographed) in Albany as late as October 27
(pre-Sandy) along with a Nashville Warbler. Other Nashville Warblers were
reported in the Albany area as well on the same day. So at least a few

slightly less active this afternoon than this morning or late yesterday
evening. The Nashville is actually 2. I got a picture of one to share.

For those interested,
Although not chaseable (with apologies to Anthony Collerton), I just received a
report of a BROWN PELICAN by someone surveying the damage at Gilgo Beach.
Ocean Parkway remains closed.

A check of the storm-battered Coney Island area this morning yielded several
interesting avian observations amongst some awful devastation.
The most notable follow:
1-2 CAVE SWALLOWS and 5 BARN SWALLOWS along the beach between Coney Island
Creek Park and Kaiser Park.

11/2/12 Roosevelt Truck Trail (Minerva in Essex Co.) 36 degrees,
overcast/drizzling/a few snowflakes!
Janet Allison and I hiked about 4 miles round trip on the Roosevelt Truck
Trail this morning. The most abundant species was White-winged Crossbill -
even outnumbering the Pine Siskins!
