Today is Teatown Eagle Fest headquartered at croton point park. Tents and spotters also at croton train station boat ramp, George's island (Montrose), Verplank pier, croton dam. 8 am -- 39 eagles at George's island. (25 at 9 am). On ice floes and perched. Other birds seen this morning mostly

Greetings All, UPDATE: 2/7/15 ~ As of 11:19AM GYRFALCON has NOT been relocated today Sat, Feb 7. The ‪#‎gyrfalcon‬ was seen on Bates Lane, Wallkill, NY flying over the fields on Bates Lane between the barns and Hoagerburgh Road. It landed several times in the Willow trees along Bates Lane.,

We just got back from East Shore Park at the south end of Cayuga Lake where the Aythya raft is showing well with many birds quite close to shore. Among the throng of Redheads are lower numbers of Canvasback and both scaup, as well as the continuing CANVASBACK x REDHEAD HYBRID, REDHEAD x SCAUP SP.

The previously posted Gyr Falcon was relocated today by Matt Zeitler, at approx. 3:05PM. Between that time and 5:00PM, approx. 40 Birders enjoyed long looks at this exquisite bird. The bird was initially found perched in a tall Pine Tree, West of Hoagerburgh Rd. and just South of Bates

There were two Thick-billed Murres at Montauk Pt this afternoon. Andy Griswold and a CT Audubon group found these birds from the bluffs at Camp Hero and alerted us over at the restaurant. One bird stayed close to the bluffs, just north of the parking area at Camp Hero and just south of Turtle
