I happened upon the Mew Gull in Brooklyn in it's favored location this morning at 9:30 a.m., and it was still there actively preening when I left at 9:50 a.m. It was on the rock outcropping, not the grass just beyond the pedestrian bridge. Anne Purcell Staten Island, NY On Jan 8, 2010

The Varied Thrush was viewed today, at approximately 11:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the area immediately next to the men's side of the restrooms near the maintenance area. We left after the bird flew to the area on the other side of the road bisecting the park. Anne Purcell Saten Island

Observed also from 4:10 pm to 4:31 pm in same area. As Jeff observed yesterday, the bird was resting when I first arrived. It started to feed in a channel just as I was ready to leave, disappearing behind a small island of iva and phrags. Sweet bird! Anne Purcell Staten Island On May 6
