I went looking yesterday, 01/04/10 between 11:00 am and 1:00 p.m. with
no luck, but was treated to a 2cd winter Iceland Gull.

I happened upon the Mew Gull in Brooklyn in it's favored location this
morning at 9:30 a.m., and it was still there actively preening when I
left at 9:50 a.m. It was on the rock outcropping, not the grass just
beyond the pedestrian bridge.

The Varied Thrush was viewed today, at approximately 11:45 a.m. to
12:00 p.m., in the area immediately next to the men's side of the
restrooms near the maintenance area. We left after the bird flew to
the area on the other side of the road bisecting the park.

Hello all,
I would appreciate a post of any findings, either positive or negative
to its' whereabouts. I would like to make another trip out on Sunday
to see it again and bring some friends who haven't. It would be a
lifer for them.
Thanks,
Anne Purcell

Observed also from 4:10 pm to 4:31 pm in same area. As Jeff observed
yesterday, the bird was resting when I first arrived. It started to
feed in a channel just as I was ready to leave, disappearing behind a
small island of iva and phrags. Sweet bird!
