that I think
was a Lincoln's. All the sparrows seemed to like a mud puddle just
outside the fence east of the big tree.
Plus the usual ubiquitous White-Throated and House Sparrows, Blue
Jays, Robins, and a large number of Mallards in the Upper Lobe.

(House and White-Throated) and pigeons there. In
front of the library (Fifth Avenue side, that is), two Yellow-Bellied
Sapsuckers were having a territorial dispute in the trees on the north
side, and an Ovenbird and a Common Yellowthroat popped out of the
bushes briefly.

An immature Mourning Warbler is still present in the area just across the
path north of Tupelo on the Ramble, seen by a number of birders around 10am
on.

The Mourning Warbler was still in the area across from Tupelo meadow,
at about 9:45am. I saw a Hairy Woodpecker at the south end of
Maintenance field a bit earlier, which was exciting for me anyway, I
never seem to spot them. Otherwise it was the usual suspects.

Sparrows and Hermit Thrushes were numerous as either
the stars or sand on a beach, whichever is more; Tufted Titmouse and
Dark-eyed Juncos took the lesser metaphor; many Yellow-Rumped Warblers
were present all around, along with Robins, Jays, and House Sparrows.

-Throateds and one Chipping Sparrow. Black-Capped
Chickadees and White-Breasted Nuthatch were present in some number at
Evodia, along with lots of Titmousen, which were also seen all over.
Lots of Hermit Thrush and White-Throated Sparrows everywhere.

left the park at 10:45 they were getting ready to close the park in
advance of the nor'easter; but maybe they'll be back tomorrow.

the Ramble and up to Belvedere. White-throateds, Blue Jays. a few
Titmousoi and Cardinals, one Mockingbrid and one Black-Capped
Chickadee. When will the Ramble be opened again?)
