Active early afternoon at Alley Pond Park.
As of 1:30pm Jason Linch and I observed the bird near the burled tree by
Decadon Pond. Still actively singing as well. Bird was Playing hard to get as
we couldn't get a decent photo.
Other warblers of note were Magnolia, Blackburnian, Am Redstart, Bl
Immature half yellow, half red. Seen 1 1/2 miles east of Field 6 south
side/east bound on Ocean Parkway.
Now I can have dinner!

It's always a good day when you get to see a Swainson's Warbler. We made eye
contact. He sang for me. Still in the same spot as reported earlier. This
surely makes up for my "maybe it's a Golden-wingled Warbler" debacle yesterday
at Bayard Cutting.

Helpful hint, drive to Nickerson beach and look for the birders!! That gets me

Whilst checking out the Grasspipers on Doctor's Path, Stacy Meyerheinrich
noticed two Mourning Doves flying over the field west of the Grasspiper field.
Turns out, one was a White-winged Dove. Identified by Arie Gilbert. Also seen
by myself, Pat Aiken, Kurt Meyerheinrich and a few others (lifer
Pat Aitken and I may have the bird on the sandbar across from boat basin at
Jones. We just lost it, but it's looked good. Still scanning with scope. If
anyone is at the beach, you may want to come here.

After ANOTHER unsuccessful search for the Hud Godwit and miss of the Marbled
Godwit, we did get to see 4 Common Nighthawks flying over the center median at
Jones Beach.
Now, Arie said he spotted them first, but we really know it was me!

activity. FOS Tennessee warbler among others. Also we may have had a Philly
Vireo. Need to check our pics against field guide because you, know we have to.

Little Alley Pond. It was first seen by Eric Miller on the 1st. He was still

Stopped by on my way to a work site. Field 2 right off beach looking east
(before volleyball courts). So far Bonapartes, and expects species. The numbers

Kevin, Funny, you should say that.
As a downstater I was literally having a similar conversation with another
downstater last month when we had a fantastic day at the Franklin Mt. Hawk
Watch near Oneonta. We went to the hawk watch for Golden Eagles that weekend
because of an upstater's post.
