Canada Goose - 11 Wood Duck - 3 males at the Pond Northern Shoveler - 6 or 7 Turtle Pond Mallard - 35+ Hooded Merganser - 4 (2 displaying males, 2 females) Turtle Pond Mourning Dove - 14 American Coot - the Pond Herring Gull - flyovers Black Vulture - 2 flyovers in flock with Turkey Vultures Azalea Pond Turkey Vulture - 5 flyovers in flock with Black Vultures Azalea Pond Cooper's Hawk - 2 or 3, one of them an immature low over the Great Lawn Red-shouldered Hawk - immature flyover Great Lawn Red-tailed Hawk - 3 Barred Owl - in Ramble (perched up high) Red-bellied Woodpecker - 4 Downy Woodpecker - 2 males (near Boathouse & Azalea Pond) Northern Flicker - 3 American Kestrel - 2 (male & female) Eastern Phoebe - Turtle Pond (Linda Yuen) Blue Jay - at least 8 Black-capped Chickadee - 7-10 Tufted Titmouse - 50-60 Red-breasted Nuthatch - 2 (Cedar Hill & Pinetum) White-breasted Nuthatch - 10-12 Brown Creeper - 2 (Azalea Pond & Sparrow Rock) Carolina Wren - feeders at Evodia Field Golden-crowned Kinglet - 3 Great Lawn Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 5-7 Eastern Bluebird - male in Amur Corktree at Azalea Pond (Laura) Hermit Thrush - 3 American Robin - 10-15 House Finch - male & female in Amur Corktree Azalea Pond American Goldfinch - 8 eastern Towhee - male Maintenance Field Chipping Sparrow - 5 Cedar Hill Field Sparrow - Cedar Hill (6:30AM) Fox Sparrow - 3 Song Sparrow - 8 Swamp Sparrow - 1 at the Pond (8:20AM) White-throated Sparrow - 100+ Dark-eyed Junco - flock of 30-40 seen in 3 locations Red-winged Blackbird - 3 males Northern Cardinal - 4 or 5 Bradley Kane reported a Northern Saw-whet Owl on the east side in the 80s. There's also been a second Barred Owl at the north end of the park.
