[nysbirds-l] Vesper sparrow, Jones beach coast guard, nassua county-yes
Vesper sparrow continues in the same spot as yesterday, the bike path east of short beach has a turn that goes north about 100 yards or so after the coast guard sand spit... when you make the turn proceed slowly and the Vesper tends to feed on the right side of the path , if a cyclist goes by it flies and has been returning back to the same spot! -Kev -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME.htm http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES.htm http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birding.aba.org/maillist/NY01 Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
[nysbirds-l] Vesper sparrow, Jones beach coast guard, nassua county
Hi all,Just had a Vesper Sparrow not far from the coast guard station...walk past the bathrooms on the bike path past the sand spit..(4 marbled godwits are sleeping there) past Short Beach and take the asphalt bike road that goes north towards the median and it is fraternizing with song sparrows and yellow rumps..an outgoing blue-headed vireo was in the same spot a little while ago as well. -Kev 4:29pm -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME.htm http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES.htm http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birding.aba.org/maillist/NY01 Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --

[nysbirds-l] Vesper Sparrow Jones Beach WE1 Nassau County
This morning at 8 AM there was a Vesper Sparrow in the northwestern section of the parking lot at the West End 1 Nature Center. Most of the shorebirds at the WE2 sand bar had dispersed. Steve Schellenger spotted a Royal Tern flying towards the ocean. The small Black Scoter flock continues at WE 2 -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
