The sand that was dug out from the site by the coast guard station was used
in construction of the new education center.  I learned that it always was
the intention to remove that sand, but I agree, the parks did a very poor
job at communicating to the public.

There are no plans to run the offshore cable or any support structures
through Jones Beach.  Parks is well aware there would be massive opposition.

They are not using the building for a drive through, they have set up tents
in the lot.  I am sure if you Google search it, you will see what has been
set up.
