Re: [nysbirds-l] Anhinga

2022-07-26 Thread Anne Lazarus
We saw it today from the bridge at Convent Road looking north at about
8:35. It likes the bare tree to the right of the line of plants in the
back. I am told that is where it likes to often be. I suggest to get there
by 8:30 am. A young man showed us where to look. It also swims and dives.

Many, many thanks to all those who posted from the field and kept those of us

Congratulations to Isaac Ruschak for the find and to Ari Weiss for his

After being absent for a while the Anhinga did a quick flight around the

It may be visible from the s side of the lake at Convent Rd.

Hang on, was there an Anhinga in Central Park “a few years ago”? “Few” as
in 3? Or “few” as in 20? Depending on my current age and how I feel on a
given day, I know that word’s meaning can vary wildly in absolute value.

Re: [nysbirds-l] Anhinga

2020-12-13 Thread brian . whipple

2020-12-13 Thread Greg Lawrence
Hi all,

The Anhinga was present til dark today and it flew up to a different perch for
the night. It has been seen at this location on the north side of Black Creek
in Churchville Park: Dropped pin
Near New York
