One of the last strongholds for Gray Partridge was the Cape Vincent Peninsular which has many square miles of suitable habitat. Given that this is a small bird which has been difficult to find even in known locations, I for one hold out hope that there may be a covey or two hunkered down along some windswept hedgerow somewhere in the vast reaches of that remote corner of the state.
