The question is how and why Bakrie feels compelled to do these deals at a time when the company (and the family) is recovering from major downward slides in share price, commodity prices, and liquidity. The deals have been structured so that the major payments will occur several years in the future, so, ostensibly the company can "afford" the terms. However, these resources come at a significantly higher price than the valuation of Bumi's current resources and they don't seem to complement the company's current asset mix.
