We've used Veritas NetBackup before without problems but are currently toying with rsyncing to ZFS (running on OpenSolaris) with fs compression and daily (ZFS) snapshots and then possibly dumping to tape. It's working really well so far. All of this actually happens from a SAN based snapshot of t
