Yes, if we go with Hróðvitnir we'll need to name the svn branch hrodvitnir otherwise we'd at best be annoying ourselves, at worst, awful problems. In that case distrib-win.bat in the hrodvitnir branch would need a minor patch to use a hardcoded svn branch name. The /DEBIAN/control file must be

Oh, dang, that is a lot of trouble. I do remember accented filenames corrupting one of my svn working copies once. As much as I would like to give Fenrir first choice on this thanks to all his hard work on Vikings, maybe Hurdy-gurdy is the way to go. On Wed, Jul 1, 2020, 10:00 PM Ralph

OK, so it may be an option, but shall we go with Hróðvitnir or the popular Hurdy-gurdy? I think the pronunciation is somewhere between throw-the-vit-nish and throw-the-vich-nish (soft 'ch' like in 'loch') and 'throw-the' naturally run together into one syllable.

Okay, if Hróðvitnir won't break things in a technical level, I am happy to go with it. I like the idea of showing off the separation of editor font and game font On Wed, Jul 1, 2020, 1:21 AM Ralph Versteegen wrote: > > > On Wed, 1 Jul 2020 at 03:56, James Paige wrote: > >> Hello, Simon! >> >>

Hello, Simon! I looked up audio of someone From Iceland saying Hróðvitnir and it sounded to me like "hroodvishnish" How would we handle the accents? Would it render as Hr[Armor][Potion]vitnir if someone edits their game's font? What would be printed on the console if running with --version ?

I never actually left the mailing list, for some reason. It was interesting to keep an eye on developments even though I am way out of touch. I haven't had a decent PC at home for over a decade, but I do now have one again, so maybe I should think about a return. I don't mind Hurdygurdy, although

I kept forgetting we need to pick the H codename My favorites: Hurdygurdy Harengiform Humgruffin I also do like Fenrir's "Hróðvitnir" but I do feel like the accents are a dealbreaker. I think "hurdygurdy" was the name with the most seconds on the forum. --- James Paige
