[oi-dev] Happy birthday Micral N!

2023-01-15 Thread aurelien . larcher
Hello,
Nothing related to OpenIndiana or illumos but today 15th of January is the 50th
anniversary of the Micral N:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micral

I just thought it would be interesting to those who like trivia about computer
history.

Kind regards,

Aurélien

[oi-dev] Boost update

2021-08-07 Thread aurelien . larcher
Hi,
Boost was updated to the latest version 1.76.0 then pdns-recursor and libcmis
were rebuilt. The latter is a LibreOffice dependency.

I have dropped the support for mpi and numpy in Boost to allow for easier
updates. I will readd them later in a separate component if there is an
interest but as they were mainly for my own developments during my postdoc I
doubt there were consumers out there.

Numpy could be updated as well.

Kind regards,

Aurélien

Re: [oi-dev] GCC6 build zone status

2017-12-04 Thread Aurelien Larcher
Only ocaml remains :)
So aside from openjdk-8 I'll have 100% gcc-6 compiled userland repository by
the end of the day :)

It seems that only ocaml and open-vm-tools remain since Andreas fixed
spidermonkey.
Thanks :)

Re: [oi-dev] GCC6 build zone status

2017-12-01 Thread Aurelien Larcher
Thanks to Ken pylint and hal-cups-utils are fixed.
I have fixed and/or republished trousers, clamav, and nut.

Remaining packages follow:

> desktop/hexchat

Issue in LUAjit: lj_vm.o is not compiled as PIC so linking fails. As it is
generated from assembly code I do not know how to deal with it.

> library/libpeas

Configuration error: Lua has no LGI support.

> runtime/clisp

Automake issue? No rule to make mbrtowc.o in gllib to produce libgnu.a

> runtime/ocaml

Needs update.

> sysutils/open-vm-tools

Needs update

> library/ spidermonkey

Needs gcc6 patches.

Update page here https://wiki.openindiana.org/oi/GCC+6

Another oustanding package on the list will be openjdk-8.

Thanks

Re: [oi-dev] Enlightenment on OpenIndiana

2017-09-17 Thread Aurelien Larcher
Maybe I should have mentioned the steps for a newcomer.

You can clone oi-userland, add my repositort as remote, and fetch my branch,
then git checkout alarcher/e_latest.

To initialize oi-userland, at the top directory: gmake setup.

Then:
cd components/desktop/e/efl && gmake env-prep.

To fetch the master branch of efl:
gmake prep

You can then work on the git and generate patches to be put in the patches
directory.

Another solution is to share a repository for efl and change the GIT_*
variables accordingly.

Thanks

Aurélien
