@Nicholas I mean that the 1040 forms from last two decades, which were produced
by TurboTax or free online filing, are now completely blank (except of check
boxes) when opened with Okular 22.08, but rendered

I opened https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040.pdf in Okular. It warns about
unsupported XFA Forms, but I can see and edit the forms fine, so I don't know
what you mean with "All fields are empty"
